Comments: Hi everybody, I found a rally prepared Mini Marcos mk 2 in Newcastle recently, and was persuaded to buy it by a friend. I thought it was ugly! anyway by the time I had trailed it back to Manchester I could see that it had potential. I have been circuit racing with an MGB for the past 4 years, and now have decided to race the marcos instead. The rebuild is about 50% complete and should be on the circuits in March or April, if anyone has any experience at preparing a full race mini marcos please e-mail me. thanks

Comments: I own a Speedex Mini Marcos. Bought the kit and assembled the car early ´93. Very dangerous in the road: I´ve almost been wiped out twice by lorries, they say "I´ve seen nothing...From where you came?" Very fast indeed... And very cheap in fuel.. Currently updating susp´n and braking, Yokohamas..

Comments: A chap I used to work with at Sellafield had a Mini Marcos. I still think it was the most ugly car I had ever seen but it seemed to go well. I even turned down a run once as I was embarassed in case I was seen in it. I suppose it is each to his own. Even though they are different keep them running as it's good to see our heritage on the roads.

Comments: Hi,I am the owner of a mini business called MINIFIX, I left a message a while ago about the availability of moulds for the Mini Marcos, but I have changed my email address. I am in Australia and would like to build one, or purchase a bodyshell if any one has one for sale preferably in OZ. I would appreciate any help. Regards Graeme.

Comments: Very informative and interesting site. After some deliberation I have decided to go for a Marcos over my other two choices (these were a newish Cooper or a Pickup) but one thing is holding me back. I can't seem to find any information on safety considerations. How do the cars rate with regards to the other Mini variants and indeed to the original Mini. Any help would be much appreciated and I feel the information would make a great addition to the site. Keep up the good work, Cheers, Rob :-)

Comments: Hi there, Just thought I would drop you all a line to see if anyone out there knows to an ABC Tricar, it's a 3 wheeled car based on a mini. I am looking to purchase one. If not does any body know to any 3 wheeled mini based car for sale, the need for restoration is not a problem. So if you know anything please drop me a line.

Kind Regards, Darren Willis

Comments: Working in I.T, I suppose I should have searched the internet a long time ago for a site on the Mini Marcos. I have owned one since August 1983. The former owner (a chap called Mr Neal from Carleon, Wales) told me that it once took concours prize in a show. The damned thing was evil, and within 48 hours of ownership I had embarked on a jaunt that was to cost me my licence for two and a half years.... Still, such was the total thrill of that weekend that I swore I would never part with it: not even to pay the £600 fine. I have also sworn that I would restore it to it's former glory. It's a long way from that now.... a mere rolling shell in need of many months work. Children and other commitments, not mention finance, always seem to get in the way, but one of these days it will see day light again.....

Comments: Hi, Sorry, we missed the Malvern show due to time flying too fast. But I'm happy to tell that OPY is now safe at he's new home in Norway! He's not registered yet, but customs clearance done and import taxes paid. I'll let him rest untill spring, did well on the 270kms of norwegian roads wich, unusually, were dry! Might see You next year! If any of You comes to Norway; get in touch! Geir

Comments: Hi! I have bought a mini marcos III, and need information on rebuilding it. All I have is the shell, windows and two subframes, and nothing else as the previous owner dismantled the interior (including the dashboard.) Can anyone send me information on spares or anything which may come in useful to me? Thanks!

Comments: Leaving this thursday for England; going to the Mini Moke club's christmas dinner in Tewkesbury. Going to pick up OPY from Stef Jones, believe it will be the first Mini Marcos in Norway! I'm really excited about it! Might run into some of You at the Malvern show on sunday, see You there? Will go with Stef! Geir.

Comments: Hi I am in melbourne Australia and am wondering if anyone knows the location of a set of moulds for the mini marcos. I am told they are in Australia. If anyone knows where I would love to hear from them. Keep up the good work with your clubs. Graeme.

Comments: Hi I am a member of the Mini Owners Club of Queensland in Australia and I have a high regard for Marcos cars. The only Mini Marcos in our city of Brisbane is a well used and rough example awaiting restoration. What a wonderful job you and your club are doing by promoting such good examples on the web,it really makes me envious. My transport is a Mini Clubman as a work car and a Mark 1 Cooper S as a toy to use on club runs and shows and for use on week ends. At present there is a lot of interest in Minis and the derivatives such as the Marcos and Jem etc in Australia, probably because we have seen the end of this class of car due to new crash laws. That now leaves us enthusiasts the responsibility of keeping these cars alive for future generations to reflect on how we could customise mass market cars to suit our wishes. Keep up the good work.

Comments: We have owned a mini marcos for over ten years now and are still awaiting some spare time to restore our wonderful car. We live in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada and would enjoy hearing from anyone near this area with knowledge and/or ownership of their own marcos.

Comments: HOWDY!!!! I've just bought and am currently restoring a Kingfisher Sprint. I would love to hear from anyone else who has got one.

Comments: I have followed the Mini Marcos Club for several years. Having a Marcos here would certainly be rare. I have never actually seen one in the U.S. Richard Porter and I have been corresponding since 1995 when I crossed his path at the Knebworth Car show while visiting my son in England. It has been a pleasure to "trade newsletters" these past years and I hope to continue reading about the exploits of the Marcos Owners in the U.K.

Comments: I am selling my Mini-Marcos MKIV 1275cc, restored in 1995, prepared for Road, Hillclimbs & Sprints. It has recently had a class win. It has a years MOT,and is tax-exempt. It is body number 8025, being a Marcos built shell. Price £2195. The reason for sale is that I prefer rear-wheel drive for competition use, and so have bought a Sylva sports-racing car. You can reach me, Anthony Parker, in LEEDS, England, via telephone 01132 795079 daytime, fax 01132 310835, or 01132 610695 evenings, or e-mail of course.
